James Archer born c. 1747, died c. 1830 NOTE ON JAMES ARCHER
James, his father and siblings moved from Frederick County, Maryland to Washington (now Greene) County Pennsylvania about 1772. James became the Captain of the local militighting Indians during the French-Indian War and remained in Greene County moving out to Ohio County (now Marshall County) Virginia by 1800. He and his family moved to Monroe (now Noble) County, Ohio around 1815 and died there about 1830. Most of his descendants stayed in Noble County until the 1870's James married twice: 1. Sophia (McClelland?) 2. (Mrs.?) Jane Lincicome
