Joseph Archer born c. 1755, died c. 1822

Joseph was a landowner in Washington County, Pennsylvania as early as 1774, after the family moved from Frederick County, Maryland.

He had considerable land and wealth accumulated by the time he sold out and moved to Guernsey County, Ohio about 1802-1803.

Two of his children married in Guernsey County in 1811 and 1812

After the Indians had been pacified, he and the family moved on to Richland County, Ohio by 1820 where Joseph died in 1822.

He married Margaret Church, daughter of George church (Kirche/Kirk), probably in Maryland before moving to Pennsylvania.

About the time of his death, his descendants began to move to Hancock and Wood Counties, Ohio and Marion County, Indiana by 1830
